NEW Century Resources completed a rougher circuit upgrade at its Century zinc mine in Queensland.
The mine achieved an average mining rate of 8.3mt per annum in December, increasing to around 8.9mtpa over the March 2020 quarter.
The upgrade is expected to provide a further increase in zinc production, with the company aiming to achieve 12mtpa over the remainder of the financial year.
The completion of the rougher circuit upgrade represented the final milestone required for the planned ramp up in mine output.
The project was completed below budget and four weeks ahead of schedule.
